The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met without recording at 1:30 p.m. this day, at the Four Points Sheraton in Nanaimo, Wayne Easter, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Yvan Bernier, John Cummins, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Bill Gilmour, Carmen Provenzano, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee resumed its study on Aquaculture.
Witness(es): From the Friends of Clayoguot Sound: Sergio Paone. From NORAM: Jamie Bridge.
Pursuant to Section 52 of the Oceans Act, the Committee undertook a review of the Act.
Witness: From the Shellfish Growers Association: Ruth Salmon.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 3:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
