The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met without recording at 1:15 p.m. this day, at the Coast Harbourside and Marina in Victoria, B.C., the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Yvan Bernier, John Cummins, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Carmen Provenzano, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on Aquaculture.

Witness(es): As Individual: John Volpe. From the Harvesters Association: Jamie Austin; Jack Connelly. As Individual: Alexandra Morton. From the Government of British Columbia: Honorable Dennis Streifel, Minister, Fisheries; Bill Valentine, Deputy Minister; Linda Hannah, Assistant Deputy Minister; Bud Graham, Assistant Deputy Minister.

John Volpe made an opening statement and answered questions.

Jamie Austin made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

Alexandra Morton made an opening statement and answered questions.

Honourable Dennis Streifel made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
