The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 1:07 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Yvan Bernier, Wayne Easter, Bill Gilmour, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Gerald Keddy, Bill Matthews, Lawrence O'Brien, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.
Witness: By Video Conference from Halifax, Nova Scotia: Area 19 Snow Crab Fishermen's Association: Deborah M. Baker, Legal Representative.
Pursuant to Section 52 of the Oceans Act, the Committee resumed its review of the Act
The witness made an opening statement and answered questions.
It was agreed, - That the Committee hear the Atlantic Salmon Federation on Tuesday, June 13, 2000.
At 1:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
