A meeting of the Board of Internal Economy of the House of Commons was held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 11:09 a.m., in Room 225-A, West Block.

Present: The Honourables Mark Holland, Steven MacKinnon and Dominic LeBlanc; Ms. Ruby Sahota, Mr. John Brassard, Mr. Blaine Calkins, Ms. Claude DeBellefeuille, and Mr. Peter Julian

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The minutes of the meeting of June 16, 2022, were approved as amended for tabling.


BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The Board noted correspondence distributed since its last meeting.


LTVP WORKING GROUP

Mr. Chris d’Entremont, Chair, Working Group on the LTVP and the Centre Block Rehabilitation, and Rob Wright, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Parliamentary Infrastructure Branch, Public Services and Procurement Canada, provided the Board with an update on recent activities of the House of Commons Long Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) Working Group, including items brought to the joint meetings with the Senate’s LTVP subcommittee. Together with Michel Patrice, Deputy Clerk, Administration, they answered questions.


At 11:49 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:20 p.m., the meeting resumed.


The Board approved the working group’s recommendations for:

• the proposed locations for Food Services in the Parliament Building and the Parliament Welcome Centre, including space for a new public café; and

• the tunnel connections “W” and “D” (which create a “loop” option) as the north-south alignments, which would be part of the overall Material Handling and Underground Network Concept.


At 12:37 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:40 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.


EMPLOYMENT MATTERS

The Board discussed an employment matter.


The meeting was adjourned at 1:06 p.m.
