Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the extreme flooding in Pakistan.

The minister made a statement and, with Christopher MacLennan, Cam Do and Tara Carney, answered questions.

At 4:39 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the committee on Monday, January 31, 2022, and Wednesday, October 19, 2022, the committee resumed a briefing on the Current Situation in Haiti.

Sébastien Carrière made a statement and, with Sébastien Sigouin, answered questions.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee commenced its study of human rights in repressive states: the situation of human rights defenders, journalists and media organizations.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "The situation of human rights defenders, journalists and media organizations".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, November 4, 2022.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

At 5:41 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
