Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, January 31, 2022, the committee resumed its study of challenges related to the recovery of the arts, culture, heritage, and sport sectors, which have been deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 3:55 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:02 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the analysts draft the report for the study of Status of the Artist Act and its impact on improving basic working conditions for artists based on the approved draft outline.

It was agreed, — That a list of witnesses be submitted by committee members to the clerk of the committee for the study of the history of and current display of hate symbols and emblems in Canada, by Friday, April 15, 2022.

It was agreed, — That a list of witnesses be submitted by committee members to the clerk of the committee for the study of harms caused to children, women, and men by the ease of access to, and online viewing of, illegal sexually explicit material, by Friday, April 15, 2022.

ORDERED, — That, the clerk of the committee organize appropriate mental health supports to support witnesses on an as needed basis for the study of harms caused to children, women, and men by the ease of access to, and online viewing of, illegal sexually explicit material.

ORDERED, — That, the clerk of the committee, on the advice of the analysts, invite expert witnesses to an in camera briefing session for committee members on the questioning of witnesses whose experiences have been informed by trauma.

At 5:59 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
