At 5:18 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 1,375, for the study of the history of and current display of hate symbols and emblems in Canada, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 2,375, for the study of harms caused to children, women, and men by the ease of access to, and online viewing of, illegal sexually explicit material, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That for the study of the impact on local news of Rogers Communications Inc.'s takeover of Shaw Communications, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission be invited to appear for 30 minutes, and that Rogers Communications inc. and Bell Media be invited to appear on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
ORDERED — That the clerk of the committee invite Rogers Communications Inc. to appear before the committee on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, on the study of the impact on local news of Rogers Communications Inc.'s takeover of Shaw Communications, and that the clerk report their response to the invitation back to committee members by end of day on Friday, February 18, 2022.
It was agreed, — That a list of witnesses be submitted by committee members to the clerk of the committee for the study of the Status of the Artist Act and its impact on improving basic working conditions for artists, by 12:00 p.m. EST, on Friday, February 18, 2022.
It was agreed, — That, for the report for the study of challenges related to the recovery of the arts, culture, heritage, and sport sectors, which have been deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, members submit their drafting instructions and recommendations to the clerk of the committee by Friday, February 18, 2022.
