Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motions adopted by the committee on Monday, June 13, 2022, and Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the committee resumed its study of safe sport in Canada.

Sarah-Ève Pelletier made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:39 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:45 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Jennifer Fraser, Allison Sandmeyer-Graves, and Rob Koehler made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Peter Julian moved, — That, in relation to the study on Safe Sport in Canada, the committee schedule a meeting in March 2023 to study allegations of unequal treatment of the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team and allegations of sexual abuse within soccer programs and to invite the current president and CEO of Soccer Canada to testify.

Amendment

Chris Bittle moved, — That the motion be amended by adding at the end the words "; and in the event that the invitation is declined, that the current president and CEO of Soccer Canada be summoned to appear before the Committee at a time, date and location to be determined by the Chair and the Clerk of the Committee".

After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Chris Bittle and it was agreed to.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:

That, in relation to the study on Safe Sport in Canada, the committee schedule a meeting in March 2023 to study allegations of unequal treatment of the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team and allegations of sexual abuse within soccer programs and to invite the current president and CEO of Soccer Canada to testify; and in the event that the invitation is declined, that the current president and CEO of Soccer Canada be summoned to appear before the Committee at a time, date and location to be determined by the Chair and the Clerk of the Committee.

At 5:33 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
