The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 11:02 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Pierre-Luc Dusseault, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Andrews, Charlie Angus, Charmaine Borg, Alexandre Boulerice, Brad Butt, Blaine Calkins, John Carmichael, Patricia Davidson, Dean Del Mastro, Earl Dreeshen, Pierre-Luc Dusseault and Colin Mayes.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: Jennifer Stoddart, Privacy Commissioner; Chantal Bernier, Assistant Privacy Commissioner; Daniel Nadeau, Director General and Chief Financial Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h), the Committee commenced consideration of the Annual Report of the Privacy Commissioner, referred to the Committee on Thursday, November 17, 2011.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h), the Committee commenced consideration of the Report of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada on the Application of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
 

Jennifer Stoddart made a statement and, with Chantal Bernier, answered questions.

 

At 11:54 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2012-2013: Votes 40 and 45 under JUSTICE, 15 and 20 under PARLIAMENT and 45 under TREASURY BOARD referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
 

The Chair called Vote 45 under JUSTICE.

 

Jennifer Stoddart made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

Vote 45 under JUSTICE carried.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
