The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Jean Crowder, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Andrews, Charlie Angus, Alexandre Boulerice, Brad Butt, Blaine Calkins, Jean Crowder, Patricia Davidson, Dean Del Mastro, Earl Dreeshen and Pierre-Luc Dusseault.

 

Acting Members present: Dan Albas for John Carmichael and Pierre Lemieux for Colin Mayes.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Public Affairs Association of Canada: John Capobianco, President; Stephen Andrews, Vice-President. Government Relations Institute of Canada: Charles King, President; Jim Patrick, Treasurer.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, September 28, 2011, section 14.1 (1) of the Lobbying Act, and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Lobbying Act.
 

Charles King, Jim Patrick and John Capobianco made statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 12:45 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:47 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That the supplementary budget in the amount of $3,500.00 in relation to working meals for the statutory review of the Lobbying Act be adopted, and that the Chair present the said budget to the Budget Subcommittee of the Liaison Committee.

 

At 12:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
