The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Pierre-Luc Dusseault, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Charmaine Borg, Alexandre Boulerice, Brad Butt, Blaine Calkins, John Carmichael, Patricia Davidson, Dean Del Mastro, Earl Dreeshen, Pierre-Luc Dusseault and Colin Mayes.

Acting Members present: Hon. Denis Coderre for Scott Andrews.

Other Members present: Nathan Cullen.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst ; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

Witnesses: Old Port of Montréal Corporation Inc.: Claude Benoit, President and Chief Executive Officer; Hon. Gerry Weiner, Chairman of the Board.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, the Committee commenced its study of the expenses of the members of the Board of Directors and of senior management of the Old Port of Montréal Corporation.

On motion of Dean Del Mastro, it was agreed, — That the witness be sworn in.

Claude Benoit made a solemn affirmation and was examined.

On motion of Dean Del Mastro, it was agreed, — That the reports referred to by Claude Benoit in her testimony be sent to the Clerk no later than 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Hon. Gerry Weiner made a statement and answered questions.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
