The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 11:16 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mauril Bélanger, Cliff Breitkreuz, Sarmite Bulte, Irwin Cotler, Pierre de Savoye, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Inky Mark, Mark Muise.

From the "Association nationale des éditeurs de livres": Gaëtan Lévesque, Vice-President, Publishing of General Literature; Benoit Prieur, Deputy Director. From the Canadian Publishers' Council: Claude Primeau, President and CEO, HarperCollins Canada Ltd., Immediate Past-President CPC; Jacqueline Hushion, Executive Director. The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
