Pursuant to the motion adopted by the House on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 22, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the subject matter of Bill C-28, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (self-induced extreme intoxication).

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 12:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee schedule three meetings on the study of Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Judges Act.

It was agreed, — That the witness list for Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Judges Act be adopted as amended.

It was agreed, — That the committee have the clause-by-clause study of Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Judges Act on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

It was agreed, — That one hour be allowed to study the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2022-2023 and that the committee invite the Minister of Justice to appear as soon as possible.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $11,600, for the study of the subject matter of Bill C-28, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (self-induced extreme intoxication), be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the committee schedule two meetings for the draft report consideration for the study of the subject matter of Bill C-28, an Act to amend the Criminal Code (self-induced extreme intoxication).

It was agreed, — That the committee schedule two meetings for the draft report consideration for the study of government's obligations to victims of crime.

It was agreed, — That, for the planification of its travel to Europe in the Spring of 2023 on its study of accountability for international atrocity crimes and current and emerging strategies on international accountability, the committee’s itinerary be composed of the cities of The Hague and Geneva.

At 12:43 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
