Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 3, 2022, the committee commenced its study of labour shortages, working conditions and the care economy.

Rachel Wernick made a statement and, with Karen Hall, Philippe Massé and Pierre Therrien, answered questions.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Pierre Cléroux, Leah Nord and Siobhan Vipond made statements and, with Shannon Glenn, answered questions.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted in committee on Monday, January 31, 2022, the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion and officials from the Department of Employment and Social Development be invited to appear before the committee during the first hour of the meeting on Thursday, March 24, 2022, in the context of the briefing on the ministerial mandate letters and the Main Estimates 2022-23; and that departmental officials appear for the second hour of the meeting on the same studies.

At 5:37 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
