The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite officials from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to appear for two two-hour meetings in order to provide an update on the rollout of National Housing Strategy programs and answer questions regarding the administration of federal housing funding programs under the National Housing Strategy, including questions regarding service standards, client satisfaction, and processing timelines for the National Housing Strategy funding applications; that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House; and that pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study regarding the different ways that the government can promote and encourage intergenerational volunteerism between seniors and youth; that the committee hold a minimum of three meetings on this issue; that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the committee undertake a study of the Supplementary Estimates (B), 2022–23; that the Minister for Employment, Workforce Development, and Disability Inclusion, the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion, the Minister of Labour, and the Minister of Seniors be invited to appear; that relevant department officials be invited to appear with the ministers at the same meetings; that the ministers appear for no less than one hour each; that these meetings be held on or no later than Wednesday, December 14, 2022; and that these meetings be televised.

It was agreed, — That the committee invite the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and department officials to appear for one hour on the Service Canada delays for passport renewals and that this meeting take place before Wednesday, December 14, 2022.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the consideration of Bill C-22, Canada Disability Benefit Act, the deadline for the submission of amendments to the clerk of the committee be no later than Friday, December 9, 2022, at noon (EST); and that the committee commence clause-by-clause consideration of the bill on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 3, 2022, the committee resumed its study of labour shortages, working conditions and the care economy.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 5:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
