Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, February 12, 2024, the committee resumed its study of Federal Housing Investments.

Meg McCallum, Abigail Bond, Jennifer Keesmaat, Justin Marchand and Beau Jarvis made statements.

At 5:37 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

At 5:48 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 6:24 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Motion

Tracy Gray moved, — Given the amount of outstanding work at this committee, the committee instructs the chair to schedule five meetings between July 9 and September 13, in order for the committee to continue its work on Canada’s housing crisis and propose solutions so more Canadians can afford to buy and rent a place to live.

Debate arose thereon.

Motion

Bonita Zarrillo moved, — That the committee do now adjourn.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Louise Chabot, Chad Collins, Michael Coteau, Peter Fragiskatos, Wayne Long, Tony Van Bynen, Bonita Zarrillo — 7;

NAYS: Scott Aitchison, Rosemarie Falk, Michelle Ferreri, Tracy Gray — 4.

At 6:33 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
