Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, June 19, 2017, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act and other Acts respecting transportation and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts.

The Chair called Clause 1.

Helena Borges made a statement and, with Brigitte Diogo, Sara Wiebe, Mark Schaan and Marcia Jones, answered questions.

At 1:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:50 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $37,500, for the study of Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act and other Acts respecting transportation and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, be adopted.

Kathleen Fox made a statement and, with Kirby Jang, Jean L. Laporte and Mark Clitsome, answered questions.

At 3:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Scott Streiner, the Hon. David Emerson and Murad Al-Katib made statements and answered questions.

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
