Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 and Wednesday, January 31, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of advancements of technology and research in the agriculture industry that can support Canadian exports.

It was agreed, — That notwithstanding the routine motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 the witness' presentation be distributed to members in English only, and that it be distributed, in both official languages, as soon as it is translated.

Damir Wallener, Rory McAlpine and Glen Metzler made statements and, with Ryan Mercer, answered questions.

At 4:53 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:57 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite officials from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food to provide a one hour and a half briefing session on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, on the recent detection of genetically modified wheat in Alberta.

At 5:12 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
