Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 and Wednesday, January 31, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of advancements of technology and research in the agriculture industry that can support Canadian exports.

Pierre Petelle and Krista Thomas made statements and answered questions.

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Jim Smith and Paul Thiel made statements and answered questions.

At 5:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:20 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of climate change and water and soil conservation issues, and notwithstanding the motion pertaining to the adoption of the report adopted on Monday, April 23, 2018, the text of the report be modified as instructed by the Committee.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of climate change and water and soil conservation issues, the motion pertaining to the title of the report adopted on Monday, April 23, 2018, be rescinded and that the report be entitled: "Toward a Resilient Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food System: Adapting to Climate Change".

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of mental health challenges that Canadian farmers, ranchers, and producers face, each party send a list of witnesses including their contact information to the Clerk of the Committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018.

At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
