The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met by videoconference at 3:41 p.m. this day, in Room C-120, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Ryan Cleary, Patricia Davidson, Rosane Doré Lefebvre, Bryan Hayes, Randy Kamp, Ryan Leef, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Robert Sopuck, Jonathan Tremblay and Rodney Weston.

 

Acting Members present: Philip Toone for Fin Donnelly.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kristen E. Courtney, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Tides Canada Foundation: Catherine Emrick, Senior Associate, Aquaculture Innovation, Salmon Aquaculture Innovation Fund. Sustainable Development Technology Canada: Maria Aubrey, Senior Vice-President, Operations; Keith Watson, Manager, Screening and Evaluation. JLH Consulting: John Holder, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of closed containment salmon aquaculture.
 

Catherine Emrick made a statement and answered questions.

 

Maria Aubrey made a statement and with Keith Watson answered questions.

 

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

John Holder, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, made a statement and answered questions.

 

Philip Toone gave the following notice: “That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans consider the Supplementary Estimates (B) on or before December 6, 2011, pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), and that the Minister be requested to testify.”

 

At 5:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
