The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 1:30 p.m. this day, in the Muskoka 1 - 2, Renaissance Toronto Airport Hotel , Toronto, Ontario, Lui Temelkovski, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Roger Clavet, Bill Siksay, Hon. Andrew Telegdi and Lui Temelkovski.

 

Acting Members present: Nina Grewal for Rahim Jaffer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Recognition of the International Experience and Credentials of Immigrants.
 

Panel I. Foreign Credentials

 

Lionel Laroche, Lucille Joseph, Sylvia Searles, Daniel Klass, Andi Shi and Colleen Hua made statements and, with Barbara Nowers and Rose Lee, answered questions.

 

At 2:45 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel II.

 

Anica Raskovic, Zheni Nasi, Della Croteau, Peter Ferreira and Norman McLeod made statements and, with Chris Schillemore and Orlando Santos, the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 3:55 p.m. Bill Siksay took the Chair.

 

At 3:56 p.m. Andrew Telegdi took the Chair.

 

At 4:13 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Panel III.
