Pursuant to Standing Order 107(1), the subcommittee resumed its study on budget submissions.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by George Chahal regarding a witness who submitted an expense claim to the Standing Committee on Natural Resources after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,500.00 for its study of the recognition of Persian Gulf Veterans and reviewing of: (a) the definition of “war”, “wartime service”, and “special duty service“; and (b) the difference, the process of determining, and criteria for Veteran’s benefits.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs be granted a study budget of $41,850.00 for its study of the experience of Indigenous Veterans and Black Veterans.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,500.00 for its study of Canada’s Approach to Africa.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted a supplementary study budget of $3,000.00 for its study of Canada’s advancement of a Two-State solution.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Health be granted a supplementary study budget of $5,000.00 for its study of opioid epidemic and toxic drug crisis in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs be granted a supplementary study budget of $4,000.00 for its study of Bill C-61, An Act respecting water, source water, drinking water, wastewater and related infrastructure on First Nation lands.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Official Languages be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,000.00 for its study of federal funding for minority-language post-secondary institutions.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Official Languages be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,500.00 for its study of economic development of official language minority communities.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a study budget of $35,250.00 for its study of Bill C-65, An Act to amend the Canada Election Act.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,500.00 for its study of purchase of the official residence of the Consul General in New York.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities be granted a contract budget of $1,700.00 for its study of Canada without barriers by 2040.

At 1:45 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
