Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,500.00 for its study of Bill C-281, An Act to amend the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act, the Justice for Victims of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act (Sergei Magnitsky Law), the Broadcasting Act and the Prohibiting Cluster Munitions Act.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted be a study budget of $64,800.00 for its study of question of privilege related to the intimidation Campaign against the member for Wellington—Halton Hills and other members.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,000.00 for its study of Bill C 21, An Act to amend certain Acts and to make certain consequential amendments (firearms).
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs be granted a travel budget of $144,497.60 to travel to Montréal, Québec; Québec, Québec; Valcartier, Québec; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Comox, British Columbia; Vancouver, British Columbia; Edmonton, Alberta; and Ottawa, Ontario, for a maximum of seven days, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of experience of women Veterans.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a travel budget not exceeding $225,000.00 to travel to Singapore, Singapore, and New Delhi, India, for a maximum of seven days, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of trade opportunities for Canadian businesses in the Indo-Pacific.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development be granted a travel budget not exceeding $225,000.00 to travel to Montréal, Québec; Hamilton, Ontario; Burlington, Ontario; Toronto, Ontario; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Vancouver, British Columbia; Fort McMurray, Alberta; and Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, for a maximum of seven days, in the Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of freshwater.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a travel budget of $188,081.93 to travel to Paris, France, for a maximum of seven days, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of Understanding the 21st Century World Economy.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a travel budget of $112,529.84 to travel to Fredericton, New Brunswick; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, in the Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2024 budget.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a travel budget of $164,934.24 to travel to Québec, Québec; Toronto, Ontario; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Edmonton, Alberta; and Vancouver, British Columbia, in the Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2024 budget.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be granted a travel budget of $151,642.40 to travel to Whitehorse, Yukon; Carmacks, Yukon; and Dawson City, Yukon, for a maximum of seven days, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of the population sustainability of Pacific salmon stocks.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be granted a travel budget of $63,544.00 to travel to Vancouver, British Columbia and Chilliwack, British Columbia, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights be granted a travel budget of $165,421.82 to travel to Geneva, Switzerland; Amsterdam, Netherlands, and The Hague, Netherlands, for a maximum of seven days, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of available international mechanisms to hold state parties and others accountable for international atrocity crimes (war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide).
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates be granted a travel budget of $65,609.10 to travel to Québec, Québec; Lévis, Québec; and Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of the National Shipbuilding Strategy.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates be granted a travel budget of $76,899.10 to travel to Vancouver, British Columbia, and Victoria, British Columbia, for a maximum of three days, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of the National Shipbuilding Strategy.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Accounts be granted a travel budget of $42,384.80 to travel to Whitehorse, Yukon, in the Summer of 2023, to attend the Canadian Council of Public Accounts Committees and Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors Annual Conference.
It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Natural Resources be granted a travel budget of $102,427.45 to travel to Fort Nelson, British Columbia; Fort St. John, British Colombia; Edmonton and surrounding areas, Alberta; Fort Chipewyan, Alberta; Fort McMurray, Alberta; Regina and surrounding areas, Saskatchewan; and Montréal, Québec, in the Summer or Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of Canada’s electricity grid and network.
It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted a travel budget of $107,540.13 to travel to Washington, D.C., United States of America, and Bogotá, Colombia, in the Fall of 2023, in relation to its study of violations of human rights driving migration in Central and South America.
