The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by Sukh Dhaliwal regarding a witness who submitted an expense claim to the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by Francis Scarpaleggia regarding a witness who submitted an expense claim to the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by Ben Carr regarding a witness who submitted an expense claim to the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

Pursuant to Standing Order 107(1), the subcommittee resumed its study on budget submissions.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a study budget of $60,050.00 for its study of Bill C-59, An Act to implement certain provisions of the fall economic statement tabled in Parliament on November 21, 2023, and certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 28, 2023.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a study budget of $28,750.00 for its study of Bill C-69, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 16, 2024.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a study budget of $5,750.00 for its study of the subject matter of Bill C-69, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 16, 2024.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs be granted a study budget of $31,550.00 for its study of tax revenues from businesses on First Nation Territories.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology be granted a study budget of $10,500.00 for its study of Bill C-352, An Act to amend the Competition Act and the Competition Tribunal Act.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,000.00 for its study of postal service in Canada’s rural and remote communities.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a study budget of $34,000.00 for its study of the question of privilege related to cyber attacks targeting members of Parliament.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a study budget of $14,000.00 for its review of the members of the House of Commons Workplace Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security be granted a study budget of $53,250.00 for its study of Bill C-70, An Act respecting countering foreign interference.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities be granted a study budget of $43,500.00 for its study of the Competition Act and air travel in northern, rural, and remote communities of Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a travel budget of $162,031.38 to travel to Quito, Ecuador; Guayaquil, Ecuador; and Cuenca, Ecuador, in the Summer – Fall of 2024, in relation to its study of free trade negotiations between Canada and Ecuador.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on National Defence be granted a travel budget of $127,664.87 to travel to Washington, D.C., United States of America; Denver, Colorado, United States of America; Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States of America; Houston, Texas, United States of America; and Orlando, Florida, United States of America, in the Summer - Winter of 2024, in relation to its study of Canadian Armed Forces’ role in space defence.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Accounts be granted a travel budget of $40,422.50 to travel to Québec, Quebec, from September 8 to 10 2024, in relation to the Canadian Council of Public Accounts Committees and Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors Annual Conference.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities be granted a travel budget of $143,961.00 to travel to Timmins, Ontario; Kuujuuaq, Quebec; Montréal, Quebec; and Whitehorse, Yukon, in the Summer – Fall 2024, in relation to its study of the Competition Act and air travel in northern, rural, and remote communities of Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs be granted a hospitality budget of $1,500.00 to organize a reception for witnesses to mark the tabling of the report on the study of the Experience of Women Veterans.

At 1:30 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
