Pursuant to the order of reference of Monday, April 24, 2023, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-27, An Act to enact the Consumer Privacy Protection Act, the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act and to make consequential and related amendments to other Acts.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Rick Perkins moved, — Pursuant a request for documents passed by the committee on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the committee orders the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada, to produce unredacted copies of the Stellantis-LG EV battery plant contracts to members of the committee, in both official languages, no later than Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Further, the committee pause its study of Bill C-27 until the contracts have been circulated.

RULING BY THE CHAIR

The Chair ruled the proposed motion inadmissible as 48 hours' notice had not been provided.

Accordingly, the motion was taken as notice of motion.

At 5:39 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
