Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the committee commenced its study of domestic manufacturing capacity for a COVID-19 vaccine.

Eric Costen and Maria Aubrey made statements and, with Rodrigo Arancibia, Darryl C. Patterson, Daniel Quinn, Lakshmi Krishnan, answered questions.

At 2:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:09 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 2:09 p.m., Michael Kram took the Chair.

Alain Lamarre, John R. Fulton, Andrew Casey, Oliver Technow, Marc Sauer and Volker Gerdts made statements and answered questions.

At 3:08 p.m., Joël Lightbound took the Chair.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on the labour shortage and the productivity of our small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), focusing on (1) labour shortage; (2) regulatory requirements and bureaucracy; (3) supply chain constraints; (4) inflation; (5) competitiveness; (6) the reform of the Competition Act and any other competition-related matters, and that the evidence and documentation received by the committee during the 43rd Parliament on the subject be taken into consideration by the committee in the current session.

At 3:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
