Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the Future of Canada’s Oil and Gas, Mining and Nuclear Sectors: Innovation, Sustainable Solutions and Economic Opportunities

Steve Reynish, by videoconference from Calgary, Alberta, Jordan Brennan and Chris Boivin made statements and answered questions.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the unilingual English version of Chris Boivin’s presentation be distributed, it being understood that the French translation will be distributed as soon as possible.

At 5:04 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:10 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Monica Gattinger, and Alika Lafontaine from videoconference from Grande Prairie, Alberta, made statements and answered questions.

At 6:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:23 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of John Barlow, it was agreed, — That the meeting on Wednesday, June 1st, 2016, be cancelled.

Motion

T.J. Harvey moved, — That the Standing Committee on Natural Resources be authorized to undertake a study of no less than 10 meetings on the opportunities and challenges facing clean technology development and its use in the natural resource sectors and; That the Committee obtain the budget necessary to travel to relevant sites across the county from August until October and; That the Committee report to the House no later than December 16, 2016.

Debate arose thereon.

At 6:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
