The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Pam Damoff, it was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the routine motion adopted on Thursday, February 4, 2016, the Clerk be authorized to distribute Committee documents, including Library of Parliament Briefing Notes, for public meetings to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Status of Women.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing by the Minister of Status of Women.

The Hon. Maryam Monsef made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:07 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:10 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2017-18: Votes 1 and 5 under Office of the Co-ordinator, Status of Women, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 23, 2017.

The Chair called Vote 1 under the Office of the Co-ordinator, Status of Women.

Justine Akman, Meena Ballantyne and Anik Lapointe answered questions.

By unanimous consent, the Chair called Vote 5 under Office of the Coordinator, Status of Women.

Votes 1 and 5 under the Office of the Co-ordinator, Status of Women carried.

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 1 and 5, less the amounts granted in Interim Supply, under Office of the Coordinator, Status of Women to the House.

At 10:42 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
