The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Linda Duncan moved, — That the Committee extend an invitation to the Commissioner for Environment and Sustainable Development to provide a briefing on the 2016 Fall Reports.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 1; NAYS: 8.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, March 22, 2016 and section 343 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act.

David Boyd, by videoconference from Victoria, British Columbia, David Butler, by videoconference from Halifax, Nova Scotia and Gordon Bacon made statements and answered questions.

At 5:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
