Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, March 22, 2016 and section 343 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:08 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That members submit prioritized witness lists to the clerk for the study on the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 by Friday, October 14, 2016.

It was agreed, — That the Fifth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That witnesses for the meetings of Tuesday October 18th and Thursday October 20th be selected by the Chair after consultation with the members of Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure and in consultation with the analysts and clerk.

2. That the Committee meet on Tuesday, October 25th and on Thursday, October 27th to provide drafting instructions for a report on Protected Areas and Conservation Objectives; and that 15 additional minutes be scheduled for Committee business on Tuesday October 18th from 5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. to make a decision on whether additional meetings with witnesses are required on this study.

At 5:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
