The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Mark Warawa, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, François Choquette, Kirsty Duncan, Megan Anissa Leslie, James Lunney, François Pilon, Anne Minh-Thu Quach, Michelle Rempel, Robert Sopuck, Lawrence Toet, Mark Warawa and Stephen Woodworth.

Acting Members present: Bernard Trottier for Stella Ambler.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst.

Witnesses: Association for Mountain Parks Protection and Enjoyment: Monica Andreeff, Executive Director. City of Calgary: Anne Charlton, Director, Parks; Chris Manderson, Natural Area Management Lead, Parks. Tree Canada: Michael Rosen, President; Dorothy I. Dobbie, Past Chair, Board of Directors. Trees For Life, Urban Tree Coalition: Mark Cullen, Chair.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, October 1, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of urban conservation practices in Canada.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

By unanimous consent, on motion of James Lunney, it was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the routine motion adopted on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, a document only available in English and provided by one of the witnesses be distributed to all Committee Members in its original English version.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
