The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Mark Warawa, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Kirsty Duncan, Megan Anissa Leslie, Anne Minh-Thu Quach, Michelle Rempel, Robert Sopuck, Lawrence Toet, Mark Warawa and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Mike Allen for Stella Ambler, Francine Raynault for François Pilon, Rathika Sitsabaiesan for François Choquette and Brad Trost for James Lunney.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Mike MacPherson, Legislative Clerk. Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Gordon Brown, M.P., Leeds—Grenville. Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve: Don Ross, Executive Director. 1000 Islands Community Development Corporation: Tom Russell, Executive Director. Parks Canada: Kim St. Claire, Field Unit Superintendent, Georgian Bay and Eastern Ontario.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, September 19, 2012, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-370, An Act to amend the Canada National Parks Act (St. Lawrence Islands National Park of Canada).
 

The Chair called Clause 1.

 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The Committee commenced its clause-by-clause study of the Bill.

 

Clause 1 carried.

 

The Title carried.

 

The Bill carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report the Bill to the House.

 

At 4:46 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
