The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met in camera at 3:56 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Greg Kerr, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Eve Adams, Sean Casey, Sylvain Chicoine, Richard M. Harris, Bryan Hayes, Greg Kerr, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Irene Mathyssen, Manon Perreault, Peter Stoffer and Bob Zimmer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Martin Auger, Analyst; Katherine Simonds, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 10, 2012, the Committee resumed its review of Veterans Review and Appeal Board (VRAB) activities.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Restoring Confidence in the Veterans Review and Appeal Board".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting or supplementary opinions from the NDP and the Liberal party, provided that they are no more than 3 pages in length and submitted electronically to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in both official languages.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

At 4:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
