The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met at 3:28 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Bruce Stanton, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Larry Bagnell, Rob Clarke, Jean Crowder, Earl Dreeshen, John Duncan, Marc Lemay, Yvon Lévesque, LaVar Payne, Greg Rickford, Todd Norman Russell and Bruce Stanton.

 

Acting Members present: Dennis Bevington for Jean Crowder.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mary Hurley, Analyst; James Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation: Sharon Matthews, Vice-President, Assisted Housing Sector. Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board: Richard Edjericon, Chairman. Nunavut Planning Commission: Paul Quassa, Vice-Chair; Marg Epp, Senior Finance Officer. Sahtu Land Use Planning Board: Heidi Wiebe, Senior Planner; Robert Overvold, Board Member.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 25, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of Northern Territories Economic Development: Barriers and Solutions.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:11 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:14 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

Members of the Committee made statements thanking the analyst, Mary Hurley, for her service to the Committee and wishing her well upon her retirement, and presented her with a gift.

 

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
