The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met at 8:46 a.m. this day, in Room C-160, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Bruce Stanton, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Larry Bagnell, Rob Clarke, Jean Crowder, Earl Dreeshen, Marc Lemay, Yvon Lévesque, Hon. Anita Neville, LaVar Payne, Greg Rickford, Todd Norman Russell, Bruce Stanton and John Weston.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Cree-Naskapi Commission: Richard Saunders, Chairman; Robert Kanatewat, Commissioner; Philip Awashish, Commissioner. National Association of Friendship Centres: Jeffrey Cyr, Executive Director; Conrad Saulis, Policy Director; Tricia McGuire-Adams, Research Manager, Urban Aboriginal Knowledge Network.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, December 13, 2010, the Committee commenced its study of the annual report of the Cree-Naskapi Commission.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 9:48 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:51 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday November 17, 2010, the Committee commenced its briefing from the National Association of Friendship Centres.
 

Jeffrey Cyr made statements and, with Conrad Saulis, answered questions.

 

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
