The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Gary Schellenberger, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Charlie Angus, Hon. Mauril Bélanger, Sylvie Boucher, Ed Fast, Tina Keeper, Maka Kotto, Luc Malo, Gary Schellenberger, Scott Simms and Chris Warkentin.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Charles Hubbard for Francis Scarpaleggia.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst; Matthew Carnaghan, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission: Charles Dalfen, Chairman; Diane Rhéaume, Secretary General, Corporate and Operations; Scott Hutton, Acting Associate Executive Director, Broadcasting.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) , the Committee commenced its study of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) - Mandate and Priorities.
 

Charles Dalfen made a statement and, with Diane Rhéaume and Scott Hutton, answered questions.

 

At 5:06 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:13 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:16 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That consideration of Committee Business planning be postponed until next meeting.

 

At 5:22 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
