The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in a televised session at 9:03 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Gary Schellenberger, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Charlie Angus, Diane Bourgeois, Gord Brown, Ed Fast, Tina Keeper, Maka Kotto, Francis Scarpaleggia, Gary Schellenberger, Hon. Andy Scott and Chris Warkentin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Independent Film and Video Fund: Jean-Louis Robichaud, President; Robin Jackson, Executive Director. Association des radiodiffuseurs communautaires du Québec: Magalie Paré, Assistant, Communications and Members Services; Brigitte Duchesneau, Secretary-Treasurer. National Campus and Community Radio Association: John Harris Stevenson, Advisory Board; Melissa Kaestner, National Coordinator. Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada: Serge Paquin, Secretary General.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order108(2), the Committee resumed its full investigation of the role of a public broadcaster in the 21st century
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:01 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:05 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the Committee meet In Camera on Thursday, May 17, 2007, to consider some recommendations to its draft report.

 

At 10:58 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
