Thursday, June 8, 2000
The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:47 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, Irwin Cotler, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Maud Debien, Bill Graham, Francine Lalonde, Diane Marleau, Ted McWhinney, Denis Paradis, Bernard Patry, Svend Robinson, Bob Speller.
Acting Members present: Paul Forseth for Deepak Obhrai.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: James Lee and Gerald Schmitz, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Export Development Corporation: Grace White, Director on the Board of Directors.
Pursuant to Standing Order 110(1) and 111, the Committee commenced its examination of the Order in Council Appointment P.C. 2000-432.
Grace White made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 10:23 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 10:37 a.m., the sitting resumed, in camera, with the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to examine the draft resolution on the conflict and post-conflict periods in Kosovo. (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, February 10, 2000, Meeting No. 19.)
It was agreed, --That paragraphes 1 to 29 be approved as amended.
It was agreed, --That the Committee should pursue its examination of the draft report next Tuesday, June 13 at 3:30 p.m.
At 12:08 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
