MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
(Meeting No. 15)

Monday, December 8, 1997


The Sub-Committee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment met in camera at 10:15 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 306 West Block, the Chair, Bob Speller, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: William Blaikie, Sarmite Bulte, Raymonde Folco, Robert Nault, Julian Reed, Benoît Sauvageau, Bob Speller.

Acting Members present: Mark Muise for Scott Brison and Gary Lunn for Charlie Penson.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Daniel Shaw, Peter Berg, Gerald Schmitz, Research Officers; Dr. Christopher Maule, Consultant.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade (See Minutes of October 23, 1997 – Meeting No. 4), the Sub-Committee resumed its study of the Multilateral Agreement on Investment.

The Sub-Committee resumed consideration of its draft report.

The Chair was authorized to coordinate technical, typographical, stylistic, translation or editing changes to the Report.

It was agreed, on division; that the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, on division; that the draft report as amended and adopted be presented by the Chair to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

At 12:16 o’clock p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
