Meeting No. 7
Tuesday, June 5, 2001
The Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 11:41 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Godfrey and Carolyn Bennett, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Roy Bailey, Libby Davies, John Godfrey, Monique Guay, Anita Neville and Diane St-Jacques.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Mackenzie and Bill Young, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (3)(c) the Sub-Committee convened a joint meeting with the Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities to study a joint draft interim report on matters relating to the proposing, promoting, monitoring and assessing of initiatives aimed at the integration and equality of disabled person in all sectors of Canadian Society and on the future or children and youth in Canada.
The Sub-Committees proceeded to study their joint draft interim report.
It was agreed, -- That the joint draft interim report (as amended) of the Sub-Committee on Children & Youth at Risk and the Sub-Committee of the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities be adopted as the First Interim Report of the Sub-Committees.
It was agreed, --That the Chairs be authorized to make such editorial and typographical changes as necessary without changing the substance of the report and that they decide on an appropriate title to this report.
It was agreed, - That the Chairs be authorized to present the report, Thursday, June 7th, to the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
At 1:05 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
