The Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Roy Bailey, Libby Davies, John Godfrey, Monique Guay and Alan Tonks.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Mackenzie, Research Officer.
Witness(es): From the Caledon Institute: Ken Battle, President. From the Canadian Council on Social Development: Andrew Jackson, Director of Research. From the National Council of Welfare: John Murphy, Chairperson, Canning, Nova Scotia; Joanne Roulston, Director. From Tristat Resources: Richard Shillington, Principal.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a study on the future of children and youth in Canada.
Ken Battle, John Murphy, Andrew Jackson and Richard Shillington made opening statements and with Joanne Roulson answered questions.
At 4:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
