At 5:26 p.m., Pierre Paul-Hus took the Chair.
Glen Motz moved, — That, in light of recent testimony the Committee has heard during its study of Bill C-83, the Committee suspend its study in recognition of the Bill's flaws and inadequate consultations; resume its study once the Government of Canada has consulted with involved parties and ensured there are no flaws; and that the Committee report this recommendation to the House.
At 5:30 p.m., Hon. John McKay took the Chair.
After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 4; NAYS: 5.
Questioning of the witnesses resumed.
At 5:38 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
