The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Room 214, Wellington Building, the Chair, Michael D.Chong, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bouchard, Peter Braid, Gordon Brown, Serge Cardin, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Marc Garneau, Mike Lake, Hon. Dan McTeague, Anthony Rota, Dave Van Kesteren and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Claude Gravelle for Brian Masse.

 

Other Members present: Niki Ashton.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst; Dillan Theckedath, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Tony Clement, P.C., M.P., Minister of Industry.

 

Witnesses: Department of Industry: Paul Boothe, Senior Associate Deputy Minister; Richard Dicerni, Deputy Minister; Kelly Gillis, Chief Financial Officer, Comptrollership and Administration Sector.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2009-2010: Votes 5c and 10c under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY, Votes 1c, 5c, 35c, 50c, 60c and 70c under INDUSTRY referred to the Committee on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
 

The Minister made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 10:00 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:05 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Paul Boothe, Richard Dicerni and Kelly Gillis answered questions.

 

By unanimous consent, the Chair called Votes 5c and 10c under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY and Votes 1c, 5c, 35c, 50c, 60c and 70c under INDUSTRY .

It was agreed, — That the Chair report the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2009-2010 to the House.
