Meeting No. 2

Thursday, March 11, 2010

The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in camera at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room 214, Wellington Building, the Chair, the Hon. Michael D.Chong, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bouchard, Peter Braid, Gordon Brown, Serge Cardin, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Marc Garneau, Mike Lake, Anthony Rota, Dave Van Kesteren and Mike Wallace.

Acting Members present: Francis Scarpaleggia for Hon. Dan McTeague and Glenn Thibeault for Brian Masse.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst ; Dillan Theckedath, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Commmittee do not meet on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, to study a draft report on the Statutory review of the Canada Business Corporations Act.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Thursday, March 25, Tuesday, March 30, Thursday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in relation to a study on Canada’s foreign ownership rules and regulations in the telecommunications sector.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Thursday, April 15, Tuesday, April 20 and Thursday, April 22, 2010, in relation to a study of the Investment Canada Act.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Tuesday, April 27, Thursday, April 29 and Tuesday, May 4, 2010, to complete its study on the Recent Economic Performance of Small and Medium-size Enterprises.

At 10:08 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
