Meeting No. 3

Thursday, March 25, 2010

The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met at 11:12 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Paul Szabo, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Patricia Davidson, Hon. Wayne Easter, Judy Foote, Carole Freeman, Pierre Poilievre, Greg Rickford, Bill Siksay and Paul Szabo.

Acting Members present: Meili Faille for Ève-Mary Thaï Thi Lac.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alysia Davies, Analyst ; Dara Lithwick, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Judy Foote, it was agreed, — That the Committee resume its study commenced in the Second Session of the 40th Parliament on the Privacy Implications of Camera Surveillance (Google, Canpages, etc.), and that the evidence and documentation received by the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics during the Second Session of the 40th Parliament in relation to its study on the Privacy Implications of Camera Surveillance (Google, Canpages, etc.) be taken into consideration by the Committee in the current session.

It was agreed, — That the Committee's Business calendar be established as follow:

Meeting of Tuesday, March 30, 2010: Interim Information Commissioner — Main Estimates

Meeting on Thursday, April 1st, 2010: Proactive Disclosure — Presentation and discussion

Meeting on Tuesday, April 13,2010: Order in Council Appointment process — Discussion

Meeting on Thursday, April 15, 2010: Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner — Main Estimates

Meeting on Tuesday, April 20, 2010: Commissioner of Lobbying — Main Estimates

Meeting on Thursday, April 22, 2010: Interim Information Commissioner — Report Cards

Meeting on Tuesday, April 27, 2010: Privacy Commissioner — Main Estimates / Camera Surveillance

Meeting on Thursday, April 29, 2010: Interim Information Commissioner, Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner and Privacy Commissioner — Proactive Disclosure.

At 11:47 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
