The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 3:15 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Paul Szabo, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Del Mastro, Sukh Dhaliwal, Russ Hiebert, Hon. Charles Hubbard, Carole Lavallée, Pat Martin, Paul Szabo, David Tilson, Dave Van Kesteren and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Serge Ménard for Richard Nadeau, Brian Murphy for Sukh Dhaliwal, Scott Simms for Hon. Charles Hubbard and Hon. Robert Thibault for Glen Douglas Pearson.

 

Associate Members present: Joe Comartin.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Erica Pereira, Committee Clerk; Gregory Tardi, Parliamentary Counsel (Legal). Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Analyst; Nancy Holmes, Analyst. As an individual: Richard Auger, Counsel to Karlheinz Schreiber.

 

Witnesses: As individuals: Hon. Elmer M. MacKay; Karlheinz Schreiber.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 22, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of the Mulroney Airbus Settlement.
 

The Hon. Elmer MacKay made a statement by videoconference.

 

At 3:35 p.m. David Tilson, Vice-Chair, took the Chair.

 

The Hon. Elmer MacKay answered questions by videoconference.

 

At 4:14 p.m., Paul Szabo resumed the Chair in televised session.

 

Karlheinz Schreiber made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:51 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:53 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Thursday, February 28, 2008 to hear from the Right Hon. Brian Mulroney or to hold an in camera session to discuss future business.

 

At 6:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
