Wednesday, April 2, 2003

The Subcommittee on International Trade, Trade Disputes and Investment of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 3:43 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Stéphane Bergeron, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Stéphane Bergeron, Rick Casson, Mark Eyking, Pat O'Brien.

Other Members present: Murray Calder and Raymond Simard.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Peter Berg and Michael Holden, Analysts.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Chamber of Commerce: Robert Keyes, Vice-President, International Division. From the Vancouver Port Authority: Gordon Chu, Director, Transportation and Trade Policy. From the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance: Patty Townsend, Executive Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Examination in view of strengthening economic relations between Canada and Asia

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 5:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
