The Subcommittee on Electoral Boundaries Readjustment of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Paddy Torsney, presiding.
Members of the Subcommittee present: Rick Borotsik, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Marcel Proulx, Scott Reid and Paddy Torsney.
Acting Members present: Benoît Sauvageau for Michel Guimond (from 5:08 p.m. to 5:53 p.m.).
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Wright and Gérald Lafrenière, Research Officers. From the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada: André Cyr, Project Manager, Electoral Geography Division, Register and Geography Directorate.
Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Marcel Gagnon, Champlain; Eleni Bakopanos, Ahuntsic; Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Jonquière; Sébastien Gagnon, Lac-Saint-Jean--Saguenay; André Harvey, Chicoutimi-Le Fjord; Michel Gauthier, Roberval.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs on Thursday, November 7, 2002, the Subcommittee resumed consideration of the matter of the objections to the report of the electoral boundaries commission for Ontario.
The Subcommittee commenced consideration of a draft report concerning the objections to the Commission’s report for Ontario.
At 3:54 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 3:55 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs on Thursday, November 7, 2002, the Subcommittee resumed consideration of the matter of the objections to the report of the electoral boundaries commission for Quebec.
Marcel Gagnon made a statement and answered questions.
Eleni Bakopanos made a statement and answered questions.
Sébastien Gagnon, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, André Harvey and Michel Gauthier each made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:34 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
The Subcommittee commenced consideration of a draft report concerning the objections to the Commission’s report for Quebec.
At 5:53 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
