The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Royal Galipeau, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Sylvain Chicoine, Royal Galipeau, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Pierre Lemieux, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ted Opitz, John Rafferty, Peter Stoffer and Frank Valeriote.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Diane Ablonczy for Bryan Hayes and Brad Trost for Hon. Laurie Hawn.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Isabelle Lafontaine-Émond, Analyst; Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Treble Victor Group: Don Ludlow, President; Tim Patriquin, Past-President. Wounded Warriors Canada: Phil Ralph, National Program Director; David MacDonald, National Partnerships Director. Office of the Veterans Ombudsman: Guy Parent, Veterans Ombudsman; Sharon Squire, Deputy Veterans Ombudsman, Executive Director Operations.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, the Committee resumed its study of the Continuum of Transition Services.
 

Don Ludlow and Phil Ralph made statements and, with Tim Patriquin and David MacDonald, answered questions.

 

At 9:45 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:50 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Guy Parent made a statement and answered questions.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

On motion of Frank Valeriote, it was agreed, — That the Committee proceed to sit in camera.

 

At 10:30 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:32 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study of the subject matter of Clause 1 of Bill C-597, An Act to amend the Holidays Act (Remembrance Day) and hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

 

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
