The Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security met in camera at 8:56 a.m. this day, in Room C-180, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Kevin Sorenson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Don Davies, Roger Gaudet, Mark Holland, Andrew Kania, Ben Lobb, Dave MacKenzie, Phil McColeman, Alexandra Mendes, Maria Mourani, Rick Norlock, Brent Rathgeber and Kevin Sorenson.

 

Acting Members present: Scott Andrews for Andrew Kania, Sukh Dhaliwal for Mark Holland and Jean-Yves Laforest for Roger Gaudet.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant, Analyst; Tanya Dupuis, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.
 

It was agreed, — That the meetings of May 3, 2011, and May 19, 2011, be interchanged.

 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

 

It was agreed, — That any dissenting opinion be appended to the report.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the issues surrounding security at the G-8 and G-20 Summits.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:02 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee resume consideration of the draft report on Thursday, March 24, 2011 and that the Chair table the report in the House on Friday, March 25, 2011.

 

It was agreed, — That any dissenting opinion be appended to the report.

 

At 8:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
